EPFO New Update 2025: Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) put some important changes and reforms to its members in the year 2025, which were meant to make the services user-friendly, accessible, and transparent. The changes include simplification of the profile update process, launch of EPFO 3.0, and re-activation of dormant UAN (Universal Account Number).
Simplified Profile Update Process
In fact, the new way of updating profile is very much easier for members. Members can simply make changes in their personal data including date of birth, nationality, name of the parents and marital status, name of spouse and gender, date of joining and leaving the company without any documentary proof. This new measure will resolve pending cases more than 4 lakhs, obtaining immediate service within its scope.
EPFO 3.0 Launches
EPFO 3.0 initiative will enable to the initiatives besides, facilitating the members with a new software, ATM card, and a smart mobile application-all these equipments are meant for achieving retirement savings from these members without any hassle uncomfortable. Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya stated that these could all be rolled out by June 2025.
Reactivation Of Inactive UAN
Now the employees will be allowed to access over more than one lakh inactive UANs that otherwise would have been kept inactive. An activated UAN will help members view their PF account online, view the passbook, and apply for withdrawal or advance through an online application. The promote digital services initiative intends to attract an increasing number of employees to online facilities.
New Minimum Balance Rule
EPFO has now a new rule that requires a minimum balance to be maintained in EP accounts from the year 2025 onwards. It wants to make sure that the accounts stay active with contributions made regularly.
